Radiologist - (Radiology) Locum Tenens
StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day

A hospital within an hours' drive of Manhattan is in need of a women's imager starting 1/1/2016. This position will be full time Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm for a period or 3 to 4 months. There is no call and no weekends. The site does not require a fellowship in women's imaging, but someone who has significant experience in women's imaging. The average daily volume is 50 to 60 mammograms, 1 breast MR, 30 breast ultrasounds, and a bone density. Of the mammograms, 75% are screening and 25% are diagnostic. The radiologist will also perform all women's imaging procedures including stereotactic biopsies and needle localizations. This site has digital mammography, but not tomo. The PACS is GE Universal and the voice recognition is Powerscribe360. Radiologist must currently have a New York license.

Radiology(locum tenens) is a medical specialty that diagnoses and treats internal diseases (such as tumors) with the use of imaging technologies including X-ray radiography, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), ultrasound, and nuclear medicine. The role of the radiologist includes developing images and interpreting the data. Interventional radiologists utilize these imaging techniques to perform medical procedures, typically minimally invasive.
