Job Description & Requirements
Radiologist - (Radiology) Locum Tenens
StartDate: 12/07/2015Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day

A radiology group in southern Pennsylvania is in need of diagnostic radiologist help. This is a team environment in a hospital setting. The coverage is every week ongoing Monday to Friday 8:30am to 5:30pm. The radiologist will be expected to take weeknight call one night a week and do weekend call in a 1 in 5 rotation. Weekday call consists of being on site from 8:30am to about 7:15pm and taking the backup pager to the teleradiology service. Once the radiologist has access they can take the weekend call from home or a hotel room if they prefer. The daily volume ranges from 50-70 studies per day. The chair rotation changes, so it is hard to give and exact breakdown by modality. The idea candidate will read all modalities but mammography and PET are strongly desired, but not required skills.

Radiology(locum tenens) is a medical specialty that diagnoses and treats internal diseases (such as tumors) with the use of imaging technologies including X-ray radiography, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), ultrasound, and nuclear medicine. The role of the radiologist includes developing images and interpreting the data. Interventional radiologists utilize these imaging techniques to perform medical procedures, typically minimally invasive.
