Radiologist - (Radiology) Locum Tenens
StartDate: 08/03/2015Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day

An imaging center in New York City area is in need of diagnostic coverage for the month of August 2015. The position is Monday to Thursday starting 8/3, 8am to 5pm. No evening call, no weekends, and no procedures. There will be one other radiologist at the site and the daily volume for this locums position is 20-25 mammograms, 25-30 ultrasounds, 10 cat scans, and 10-15 MR's for an average of 70 studies per day. The PACS system is Viztek Opal PACS and the site uses a transcriptionist.

Radiology(locum tenens) is a medical specialty that diagnoses and treats internal diseases (such as tumors) with the use of imaging technologies including X-ray radiography, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), ultrasound, and nuclear medicine. The role of the radiologist includes developing images and interpreting the data. Interventional radiologists utilize these imaging techniques to perform medical procedures, typically minimally invasive.
