NEED for an Interventional Radiology physician to work at the East Orange, NJ VA Medical Center.
Board Certified Interventional Radiology:
• Starts May 29, 2015 – September 30, 2015 (possible extension for 120 days)
• Any state license
• Call is required
• 40 hour work week
• Monday – Friday
• 8:00 am – 4:30 pm
• Contract Interventional Radiologists providing services under this contract must be fellowship-trained in Interventional Radiology, Board-Certified by the American Board of Radiology, maintain both current ACLS certification and current CAQ (Certificate of Added Qualifications) status in Interventional Radiology.
Procedures of Interventional Radiology are:
• Arteriovenous Malformations(AVM), Angiography, Balloon Angioplasty, Biliary Drainage and Stenting, Central Venous Access, Embolization and ChemoEmbolization, Hemodialysis Access Maintenance, Gastrostomy tubes, Renal Biopsy, Stenting and Stent-Grafting, Radiofrequency Ablations(RFA), TIPS (transhepatic shunt), Vena Cava Filter, MR Angiography, CT Angiography, Biopsies (bone and soft-tissue), Abscess drainage.

Timeliness requirements:

• Any routine or elective procedure requiring Contract Interventional Radiologist presence must be completed within 5 days of order, unless otherwise mutually agreed upon by the Contract Interventional Radiologist and ordering VA attending physician.*
• Urgent studies will be performed within 4 hours unless otherwise mutually agreed upon by the Contract Interventional Radiologist and ordering VA attending physician.*
• Stat procedures will be performed within 1 hour of order unless otherwise mutually agreed upon by the Contract Interventional Radiologist and ordering VA attending physician.*
• Routine interventional procedures will be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance.
• The Contract Interventional Radiologist will be present within 15 minutes of the scheduled procedure start time to prevent throughput delays.
