Manchester, New Hampshire – Located in the Heart of New England is the largest city in Northern New England. Located along the Merrimack River, Manchester offers an abundance of outdoor recreation within the city limits. The Massabesic reservoir, a 2,200-acre lake offers miles of mountain biking and hiking trails, canoeing and kayaking, fishing, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing. Manchester also prides itself on being close to everything: 20 miles from the Massachusetts border, 1hr to Boston, 1hr 40 min to Portland, 5hrs to NYC, 2hrs to Providence, easy drive to the seacoast, White Mountains and lakes region. Manchester features festivals, open-air markets, great restaurants, sporting and concert events available in the new 10,000-seat indoor Verizon Wireless Arena. The arts are well represented in Manchester as well. The Currier Museum of Art focuses on paintings by big names like Picasso and O'Keeffe, while the Majestic Theater produces more shows than any other community theatre in NH and the New Hampshire Institute of Art, an accredited art college has a firm commitment to educating students in the fine arts. School Administrative unite # 37 is well respected as the state's largest and oldest school system and is comprised of fifteen elementary schools, four middle schools and three fully accredited high schools. Another great benefit to Manchester: New Hampshire residents pay no state income tax or sales tax!
