Interventional Radiologist - Physician - (Radiology - VIR - Inter Rad) Locum Tenens
StartDate: 09/28/2015Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day
Hospital in southern New Mexico is needing interventional radiologist coverage starting October / November timeframe for at least a couple months. The hours are 8am to 5pm (the site will also consider 8am to 1pm if the radiologist is interested in partial days) working 4 to 5 days per week. No weekends and possibly no weeknight call. There are about 4,700 IR RVUs per year. This is a team environment with two other radiologists at the hospital. The radiologist will also be required to read diagnostic studies as well. The site sees 65,000 diagnostic cases per year between 3 radiologists. The breakdown based on RVU's is 41% cat scan, 4% flouro, 10% MR, 13% ultrasound, 16% plain film, 1% Pet, 1% nuclear medicine, 6% mammograms, and 8% interventional cases. This radiologist will not need to be MQSA certified, but will perform the biopsies.
An interventional radiologist(locum tenens) is a physician who utilizes minimally invasive, image-guided procedures and techniques to diagnose and treat patients for various conditions.
