Interventional Radiologist - Physician - (Radiology - VIR - Inter Rad) Locum Tenens
StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day

A hospital site in southern California is in need of interventional radiologist coverage the weeks of 6/1 to 6/5 and 6/8 to 6/12. This is an 80% IR and 20% diagnostic job. There is a diagnostic radiologist, but the interventional radiologist may read some plain film, cat scan, ultrasound, MR, and nuclear medicine between cases. This position is very busy and is Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm. No call and no weekends. Typical interventional procedures are Catheter angiography, Angioplasty and vascular stenting, Biliary interventions, Catheter embolization, Catheter directed thrombolysis, Diagnostic angiography, Chemoembolizations, Fistula/Graft declotting and interventions, IVC filter placement and removal, Peritoneal ports, TIPS (transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt), Ureteral stenting and nephrostomy, Vascular access procedures, Kyphoplasty and Vertebroplasty, and Epidural injections/nerve blocks.

An interventional radiologist(locum tenens) is a physician who utilizes minimally invasive, image-guided procedures and techniques to diagnose and treat patients for various conditions.
