MedCare Staffing is seeking 2 Pulmonologist/Intensivists for a long-term locums position near Portland, Maine. Coverage will begin August 1, 2014 and end July 31, 2015.
Work Hours:Monday through Friday 8 AM - 4:30 PM
On-Call Hours:Monday through Friday 4:30 PM - 8 AM
Saturday/Sunday 48 hours
(Call will be required on some Federal Holidays)
Scope of Practice: In conjunction with the Surgical or Medical attending physician and other consultants, the Pulmonologist/Intensivist (hereafter PI) directs the care of all patients in the Intensive Care Unit(ICU). The PI provides continuous vigilance; early intervention and ongoing care with the goal to decrease ICU related morbidity and mortality. In addition, the PI proactively communicates with the other members of the team to assure optimal results. The PI will conduct multidisciplinary rounds daily in the ICU. The PI will perform inpatient pulmonary consultation. When not scheduled for Intensivist duties, the PI will see outpatients in the pulmonary clinic.
Requirements: Provider must be Board Certified or Board Eligible with an unrestricted medical license. A DEA and BLS and ACLS certification are also needed.
