Psychiatrist - (Psych) Locum Tenens
StartDate: 01/05/2015Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day
A Full Time Psychiatrist is needed in Massachusetts for 3 months starting in January. The schedule is Monday-Friday 8a-5p, no call or weekend coverage. The physician will see either adult or adolescent patients. Duties include evaluations, consults and medication management. A psychiatrist (locum tenens) is a mental health professional, who focuses on preventing, diagnosing, and treating mental illness. After completing medical school, a psychiatrist must also complete a one year internship and three additional years of specialized training as a psychiatric resident. In the treatment of mental illness, a psychiatrist is licensed to prescribe medication. Some conditions requiring medication include; depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and ADHD. A psychiatrist evaluates patients with mental illness and, in cases where medication is subscribed, often practices medication management.
Required Qualifications
A Massachusetts State License is required
Preferred Qualifications
Inpatient experience a plus
Suboxone Certification a plus
