Minimum Length of Initial Coverage: At least 2 Days/Week for 1 Month (Client open to Split Schedules)

Type of Clinic (MSG, SSG, Solo, CH): Regional Hospital

Hospital/Facility Size (# beds/exam rooms): 100-Beds ; 30-Bed IP Psych Unit

Schedule: Sunday to Saturday; 24-Hour Call with Inpatient Rounds

Patient Volume: 12-18 Patients per Day

Patient Ages: Gero-Psych 55+ (Adult-Only)

IP/OP: 100% Inpatient

Call: Phone calls received –

Usually get around 3 to 4 phone calls a day on patients. Usually regarding discharge.

Average around 1 phone call per night regarding disruptive patient or referral patient on whether to admit or not.

Support Staff: Psych Director and CNS

Responsibilities (ICU, Vents, OB, etc): Round, Medication Management and Daily Psych Eval's; May have to respond to ER Psych Eval's on occasion

Charting/Dictation: Paper Charting

BC/BE Requirement: Board Certified and Board Eligible physicians are encouraged to apply

Privileges Required? (turnaround): 1 Day (Emergent Need)

DEA / CSR Requirements: Active and Current

Certification Requirements (BLS, ACLS, ATLS, PALS, etc.) BLS, ACLS

Additional Info: Rounding / Call – physician must see patients at least 5 times per week.

BYLAWS: Patients in the Senior Mental Health Unit shall be seen at least five times per week, and more frequently if their status warrants, by the Attending Physician or his/her designated alternate. Typically takes 1-2 hours per day to round on all patients.
