Psychiatrist - (Psych) Locum Tenens
StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day

Georgia licensed psychiatrist needed to act as "Senior Psychiatrist" for state facility in Milledgeville. Supervisory experience, knowledge of Joint Commission and CMS standards, APA practice standards, mental health (and forensics), conducting admission, integrated, and focused psychiatric assessments and individualized recovery planning. Monday-Fridays; 40 hour work week, no call, no weekends.
Responsibilities include monthly monitoring of fixed sample of all psychiatric assessments, notes and recovery planning process. Data based mentoring of psychiatrists on assessments and recovery planning teams. Entering monitoring data into plato software.
Undertaking inter-rater agreement checks with other monitors. ASAP-ongoing assignment. Call Staff Care for more information!

A psychiatrist (locum tenens) is a mental health professional, who focuses on preventing, diagnosing, and treating mental illness. After completing medical school, a psychiatrist must also complete a one year internship and three additional years of specialized training as a psychiatric resident. In the treatment of mental illness, a psychiatrist is licensed to prescribe medication. Some conditions requiring medication include; depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and ADHD. A psychiatrist evaluates patients with mental illness and, in cases where medication is subscribed, often practices medication management.
