Fort Sill was established in 1896 in what is now Oklahoma to protect Texan settlers from Native Americans. The fort grew to include a field artillery school in 1911; air defense artillery and electronic warfare branches were added to comprise the current Fires Center of Excellence. If you find yourself stationed at or traveling to Fort Sill, there are several area places you will want to visit.
