Psychiatrist - (Psych) Locum Tenens
StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day
This part time opportunity in the Bay Area of California, is perfect for a psychiatrist looking to be part of a treatment team. The client is interested in a mental health physician with community mental health experience, and is willing to working as soon as possible on an ongoing basis seeing adult population. The mental health physician will be working with psychologists, social workers, counselors, and program managers. The psychiatrist will be responsible for medication checks and initial evaluation of all child and adult patients. For more information please contact Staff Care.
A psychiatrist (locum tenens) is a mental health professional, who focuses on preventing, diagnosing, and treating mental illness. After completing medical school, a psychiatrist must also complete a one year internship and three additional years of specialized training as a psychiatric resident. In the treatment of mental illness, a psychiatrist is licensed to prescribe medication. Some conditions requiring medication include; depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and ADHD. A psychiatrist evaluates patients with mental illness and, in cases where medication is subscribed, often practices medication management.
