Director of Behavioral Health 45 Min South East of San Francisco

A fiscally responsible, independent, not-for-profit community health center and a key member of their community’s vital health safety-net that is committed to delivering excellent health services in a caring, nurturing, and respectful atmosphere. They promote optimal health, eliminate preventable diseases, and improve the quality of life for every individual and family in their community. This not-for-profit community health center provides a wide spectrum of health education, healthcare, and social services to everyone, without regard to financial position, ethnicity, language, culture, sexual orientation or any other criteria.

This Community Health Center is developing a patient-centered health home model for managing health care services. This approach provides all-inclusive primary care, facilitating partnerships between individual patients and their personal providers, and when appropriate, the patient’s family. This allows better access to health care, increases satisfaction and improves health. This not-for-profit community health center has a permanent full time position open for a Director of Behavioral Health. Below are some facts about the position:

Qualifications and Requirements

• Medical Degree in Psychiatry or Nursing Degree in Psychiatry or Master’s degree in Social Work form an accredited college or university and current license as Psychiatrist or as an lcsw in the State of California, or PhD in Psychology and license as a Psychologist in the State of California.
• Three or more years of directly related experience.
• Experience in a leadership role indicated by successfully forming a team that is highly productive and demonstrates collaborative relationships with multi-disciplinary teams.
• Minimum of one year of supervisory experience or as lead person overseeing the implementation of a program of significant size and scope.
• Community or Public Health experience preferred.
• Grant and budget experience.
• Foreign language skills a plus.
• Specialized training and experience in the principals of integrating behavioral health assessment and treatment in the primary care setting.

Certifications/Licenses:

• Current license as a Psychiatrist or lcsw or a Psychologist in the State of California.
• Valid California state driver’s license and proof of current automobile ins.
