Psychiatrist - (Psych) Locum Tenens
StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day

This child outpatient facility is located in beautiful Southern California, and looking for part or full time coverage at several of their sites in the Pasadena area. This is an established mental health facility in the community that is interested in recruiting a new mental health physician to help their growing population. The facility is open to full and part time availability at multiple location, with a focus on family mental health medicine. Their treatment goal is to treat individuals with mental illness. The physician will be assisted by nurses, therapist, social workers, and psychiatric nurse practitioners to work in a team setting to achieve their treatment plan. Client is interested in candidates with experience in community mental health facility setting and able to develop an ongoing relationship for future assignments as well as their current needs. A psychiatrist (locum tenens) is a mental health professional, who focuses on preventing, diagnosing, and treating mental illness. After completing medical school, a psychiatrist must also complete a one year internship and three additional years of specialized training as a psychiatric resident. In the treatment of mental illness, a psychiatrist is licensed to prescribe medication. Some conditions requiring medication include; depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and ADHD. A psychiatrist evaluates patients with mental illness and, in cases where medication is subscribed, often practices medication management.

Required Qualifications
Potential candidates must be child trained, or board certified in adult and comfortable with the child population.

Preferred Qualifications
Any Spanish speaking physicians are a plus to the patient setting.
