Psychiatrist - (Psych) Locum Tenens
StartDate: 10/06/2014Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day
The Air Force is looking for a Psychiatrist for Keesler Air Force base, outside Biloxi. The provider will need to be board certified and residency trained. The government asks that the provider has a current BLS and DEA. The provider will need to have 24 months of experience in the last 36 months. The provider will be working in the clinic with a monday thru friday schedule. The hours are 730am-430pm, and there is no call or overtime required.
A psychiatrist (locum tenens) is a mental health professional, who focuses on preventing, diagnosing, and treating mental illness. After completing medical school, a psychiatrist must also complete a one year internship and three additional years of specialized training as a psychiatric resident. In the treatment of mental illness, a psychiatrist is licensed to prescribe medication. Some conditions requiring medication include; depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and ADHD. A psychiatrist evaluates patients with mental illness and, in cases where medication is subscribed, often practices medication management.
