Psychiatrist - (Psych) Locum Tenens
StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day

A Psychiatrist is needed to provide services on a locum tenens basis in this outpatient clinic. This will begin immediately upon the completion of credentialing and last on an ongoing basis, until a permanent hire can be identified. Working hours are from Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

A psychiatrist (locum tenens) is a mental health professional, who focuses on preventing, diagnosing, and treating mental illness. After completing medical school, a psychiatrist must also complete a one year internship and three additional years of specialized training as a psychiatric resident. In the treatment of mental illness, a psychiatrist is licensed to prescribe medication. Some conditions requiring medication include; depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and ADHD. A psychiatrist evaluates patients with mental illness and, in cases where medication is subscribed, often practices medication management.

Required Qualifications
The Psychiatrist must obtain a Basic Life Support certificate prior to the start date.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with the geriatric population is desirable.
