Psychiatrist - (Psych) Locum Tenens
StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day
Adult psychiatrists are needed in Southern California for two part time positions in the Los Angeles/Orange County area. This client is looking for a full time mental health physician looking to make a three month commitment to their assignments, and split their time between two clinics. The psychiatrist will be working at outpatient clinics with substance abuse patients. The psychiatrist will be working within a harm reduction model with an active treatment team of medical and clinical practitioners. Please contact Staff Care for more information.
A psychiatrist (locum tenens) is a mental health professional, who focuses on preventing, diagnosing, and treating mental illness. After completing medical school, a psychiatrist must also complete a one year internship and three additional years of specialized training as a psychiatric resident. In the treatment of mental illness, a psychiatrist is licensed to prescribe medication. Some conditions requiring medication include; depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and ADHD. A psychiatrist evaluates patients with mental illness and, in cases where medication is subscribed, often practices medication management.
