Psychiatrist - (Psych) Locum Tenens
StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day
Outpatient full time adult Psychiatrist is needed in Northern region of New York. Provider schedule will be Monday - Friday 8 am-5 pm. There will be 1 night per week and 1 weekend per month required. The physician will see adult patients; perform evaluations, consults and medication management. The weekend coverage will also be covering for inpatient 12 bed unit. A psychiatrist (locum tenens) is a mental health professional, who focuses on preventing, diagnosing, and treating mental illness. After completing medical school, a psychiatrist must also complete a one year internship and three additional years of specialized training as a psychiatric resident. In the treatment of mental illness, a psychiatrist is licensed to prescribe medication. Some conditions requiring medication include; depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and ADHD. A psychiatrist evaluates patients with mental illness and, in cases where medication is subscribed, often practices medication management.
Required Qualifications
Call coverage for 1 night a week and 1 weekend a month.
Active New York license.
Preferred Qualifications
Comfortable with dictation and electronic medical records.
Board eligible and board certified candidates considered.
