Psychiatrist - (Psych) Locum Tenens
StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day
Want to get away from the cold weather, and enjoy the beautiful dessert views? This state of the art acute care hospital is looking for a temporary psychiatrist to start as soon as possible for ongoing coverage. They mental health physician will be working with a team of four other psychiatrist, nurses, one psychiatric nurse practitioner, case workers, and other trained support staff in an inpatient setting. The psychiatrist will be responsible for 12 patients, and will work a 1:5 Call weekend Call schedule. For more details please call Staff Care.
A psychiatrist (locum tenens) is a mental health professional, who focuses on preventing, diagnosing, and treating mental illness. After completing medical school, a psychiatrist must also complete a one year internship and three additional years of specialized training as a psychiatric resident. In the treatment of mental illness, a psychiatrist is licensed to prescribe medication. Some conditions requiring medication include; depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and ADHD. A psychiatrist evaluates patients with mental illness and, in cases where medication is subscribed, often practices medication management.
Required Qualifications
All candidates must be licensed in the state of Arizona, and board certified psychiatrist.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with electronic medical records is a huge plus to this opportunity.
