Psychiatrist - (Psych) Locum Tenens
StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day
Michigan licensed psychiatrist needed May 1 for ongoing coverage as facility recruits permanent provider. Mix of inpatient and outpatient duties Mondays-Fridays with 1:4 call rotation. Physician duties include inpatient coverage (census is currently 5 patients) and 10-14 patients/day for the outpatient clinic. Medication management, evaluations and follow up visits included in list of duties. Possible permanent position available for the right provider. Great rates! A psychiatrist (locum tenens) is a mental health professional, who focuses on preventing, diagnosing, and treating mental illness. After completing medical school, a psychiatrist must also complete a one year internship and three additional years of specialized training as a psychiatric resident. In the treatment of mental illness, a psychiatrist is licensed to prescribe medication. Some conditions requiring medication include; depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and ADHD. A psychiatrist evaluates patients with mental illness and, in cases where medication is subscribed, often practices medication management.
