Psychiatrist - (Psych) Locum Tenens
StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day
Psychiatrist is needed starting May 1st to working with an already established ACT team to see patient in their homes in Southern California. This opportunity is great for a physician looking to working closely with community mental health. They will be working 8am to 5pm, 5 days per week. This ACT team is looking for a psychiatrist that will work as a contractor with the interest in pursuing the opportunity full time permanent. A psychiatrist (locum tenens) is a mental health professional, who focuses on preventing, diagnosing, and treating mental illness. After completing medical school, a psychiatrist must also complete a one year internship and three additional years of specialized training as a psychiatric resident. In the treatment of mental illness, a psychiatrist is licensed to prescribe medication. Some conditions requiring medication include; depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and ADHD. A psychiatrist evaluates patients with mental illness and, in cases where medication is subscribed, often practices medication management.
Required Qualifications
Psychiatric physician must be comfortable with electronic medical records and computers to be considered for the position. The psychiatrist will also need to provider all recent job experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with acute care or working with an ACT team is a plus, but not required.
