Psychiatrist - (Psych) Locum Tenens
StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day
Correctional facility is looking for a full time psychiatrist for contract coverage. Physician has the ability to work a flexible schedule starting as early as 7am and ending as late as 7pm. The client is open to the psychiatrist working on Saturdays. Candidates will be responsible for medication management and evaluations of new patients. Psychiatrist will have a full support staff for assistance, as well as other physicians for consults. Please contact Staff Care for more information on this opportunity
A psychiatrist (locum tenens) is a mental health professional, who focuses on preventing, diagnosing, and treating mental illness. After completing medical school, a psychiatrist must also complete a one year internship and three additional years of specialized training as a psychiatric resident. In the treatment of mental illness, a psychiatrist is licensed to prescribe medication. Some conditions requiring medication include; depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and ADHD. A psychiatrist evaluates patients with mental illness and, in cases where medication is subscribed, often practices medication management.
Required Qualifications
Candidate must have an active Arizona License, and DEA. Candidate must also be able to work within a formulary.
Preferred Qualifications
Correctional experience is a plus.
