Psychiatrist - (Psych) Locum Tenens
StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day
Community mental health clinic in Northern California is looking for full time ongoing psychiatry coverage. This opportunity is available for immediate start for a mental health physician looking to work with a qualified staff. This clinic sees patients with a variety of mental health issues, and will be responsible for evaluations, and medication management. This opportunity is open on an ongoing basis for now, seeing both adult and adolescent patients. Please contact Staff Care for more information.
A psychiatrist (locum tenens) is a mental health professional, who focuses on preventing, diagnosing, and treating mental illness. After completing medical school, a psychiatrist must also complete a one year internship and three additional years of specialized training as a psychiatric resident. In the treatment of mental illness, a psychiatrist is licensed to prescribe medication. Some conditions requiring medication include; depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and ADHD. A psychiatrist evaluates patients with mental illness and, in cases where medication is subscribed, often practices medication management.
Required Qualifications
Must be licensed to practice medicine in the state of California.
Preferred Qualifications
Computer skill are a plus.
