Psychiatrist - (Psych) Locum Tenens
StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day
Inpatient facility in Kentucky needs immediate Psychiatrist for full time locums coverage. Start April or as soon as privileges are granted. Psychiatrist will work Monday through Friday schedule with night call coverage. Provider will treat adult and geriatric patients, altering between several units within facility. Open to truly board eligible and board certified candidates. The units use electronic self scripts, will be moving to standard progress notes. All candidates will go through background check and orientation before working unit. Call Staff Care for more details on the coverage.
A psychiatrist (locum tenens) is a mental health professional, who focuses on preventing, diagnosing, and treating mental illness. After completing medical school, a psychiatrist must also complete a one year internship and three additional years of specialized training as a psychiatric resident. In the treatment of mental illness, a psychiatrist is licensed to prescribe medication. Some conditions requiring medication include; depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and ADHD. A psychiatrist evaluates patients with mental illness and, in cases where medication is subscribed, often practices medication management.
