Psychiatrist - (Psych) Locum Tenens
StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day
Adult psychiatrists are needed in Northern California for several locations around the Bay Area. This client is looking for full time mental health physicians looking to make a three month commitment to their assignments. The psychiatrist will be working at county medical centers on the mental health units. They can expect an average of twelve patients per day, with an average length of stay to be eight days for the patients. A potential candidate must have documented inpatient experience of 30 patients in the last 24 months, and be proficient in working with electronic medical records. A psychiatrist (locum tenens) is a mental health professional, who focuses on preventing, diagnosing, and treating mental illness. After completing medical school, a psychiatrist must also complete a one year internship and three additional years of specialized training as a psychiatric resident. In the treatment of mental illness, a psychiatrist is licensed to prescribe medication. Some conditions requiring medication include; depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and ADHD. A psychiatrist evaluates patients with mental illness and, in cases where medication is subscribed, often practices medication management.
