Psychiatrist - (Psych) Locum Tenens
StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day
Inpatient psychiatrist needed full time for 40 bed adult unit in Poughkeepsie. Immediate start for ongoing coverage; physician duties include daily rounding, ER Coverage, admissions/discharges and medication management. Monday-Friday coverage late afternoon and evening shifts available; no call, no weekends. Electronic Medical Records used. Board Eligible candidates considered. Travel and lodging provided for right provider!
A psychiatrist (locum tenens) is a mental health professional, who focuses on preventing, diagnosing, and treating mental illness. After completing medical school, a psychiatrist must also complete a one year internship and three additional years of specialized training as a psychiatric resident. In the treatment of mental illness, a psychiatrist is licensed to prescribe medication. Some conditions requiring medication include; depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and ADHD. A psychiatrist evaluates patients with mental illness and, in cases where medication is subscribed, often practices medication management.
