Psychiatrist - (Psych) Locum Tenens
StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day

Large hospital health system in Southern Maine is looking for an inpatient adult psychiatrist to assist in their strong mental health program. Physician will be working full time 8am to 5pm for the month of September. They will also be responsible for intake, evaluations, medication management, and patients' progress in moving toward discharge. Psychiatrist will be working with a full support staff. A psychiatrist (locum tenens) is a mental health professional, who focuses on preventing, diagnosing, and treating mental illness. After completing medical school, a psychiatrist must also complete a one year internship and three additional years of specialized training as a psychiatric resident. In the treatment of mental illness, a psychiatrist is licensed to prescribe medication. Some conditions requiring medication include; depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and ADHD. A psychiatrist evaluates patients with mental illness and, in cases where medication is subscribed, often practices medication management.

Required Qualifications
Any candidate must be licensed in the state of Maine.
