Psychiatrist - (Psych) Locum Tenens
StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day
This residential care psychiatric facility is looking for 20 hour per week coverage for Monday to Friday work schedule. The mental health physician is responsible for medication management and ongoing treatment working with their treatment team. The expected schedule for the physician will be 8 am to 5pm, provider has the option to work M-F 8am to 6pm by phone only Call rotation. A psychiatrist (locum tenens) is a mental health professional, who focuses on preventing, diagnosing, and treating mental illness. After completing medical school, a psychiatrist must also complete a one year internship and three additional years of specialized training as a psychiatric resident. In the treatment of mental illness, a psychiatrist is licensed to prescribe medication. Some conditions requiring medication include; depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and ADHD. A psychiatrist evaluates patients with mental illness and, in cases where medication is subscribed, often practices medication management.
