I have a client in New York state that is recruiting for a Staff Psychiatrist. The Staff Psychiatrist provides direct patient treatments services and provides supervision for non-physician clinical staff including Clinical social Workers and their respective plans of care of child and adult clients. The Psychiatrist participates in case review of medical records relative to mental health treatment, reviews protocols that define the boundaries of practice, provides consultation, and other related services as required. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Provides treatment services including individual, family, group and multi-family group psychotherapy, and psychotropic medication management at the Lourdes Center for Mental Health. The staff psychiatrist would also:1.Participate in education and training of primary care physicians and pediatricians in the use of screening tools and treatment of common disorders.2.Provide psychiatric consultation for medical inpatients at the Hospital, as referred by physicians and/or Social Workers.3.Collaborate with mid-level providers in order to provide an effective model for integration of mental health services 4.Participate in case conferences.5.Participate in Quality reviews and Performance Improvement Program KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: 1.Possession of current valid license to practice medicine in the State of New York.2.Board certification or eligibility in psychiatry.3.Interest in maintaining a high standard of professional ethics.4.Sound professional judgment.Package: Salary is commensurate with MGMA guidelines.
