Psychiatrist - (Psych) Locum Tenens
StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day
Are you interested in visiting an area with charming small town feel close to the California coast? This is a great adult out-patient opportunity, and just 2 hours south of the Bay area. This community mental health facility is in need of a psychiatrist available as soon as possible for a 3 month commitment, with option to extend. Staff Care will arrange your travel and lodging. The mental health physician will be responsible for case load of approximately 150-175 patients. The psychiatrist will have the option to work Call or weekend coverage schedule. The psychiatrist will be scheduled Monday through Friday 8am-5pm. Please contact Staff Care for more information.
A psychiatrist (locum tenens) is a mental health professional, who focuses on preventing, diagnosing, and treating mental illness. After completing medical school, a psychiatrist must also complete a one year internship and three additional years of specialized training as a psychiatric resident. In the treatment of mental illness, a psychiatrist is licensed to prescribe medication. Some conditions requiring medication include; depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and ADHD. A psychiatrist evaluates patients with mental illness and, in cases where medication is subscribed, often practices medication management.
Required Qualifications
All candidates must have an active California license.
