Psychiatrist - (Psych) Locum Tenens
StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day
An adult outpatient Psychiatrist is needed for a part-time ongoing assignment in East Central Texas. Provider's daily responsibilities will include group therapy sessions, evaluations, and medication management. The physician will be working with a full support staff. The schedule will consist of one day per week with 6 hours split between two locations approximately 40 miles apart. Telepsychiatry can be performed 2 days a month and the remainder coverage dates between locations. This facility has no call or weekends required. For more details, please call Staff Care.
A psychiatrist (locum tenens) is a mental health professional, who focuses on preventing, diagnosing, and treating mental illness. After completing medical school, a psychiatrist must also complete a one year internship and three additional years of specialized training as a psychiatric resident. In the treatment of mental illness, a psychiatrist is licensed to prescribe medication. Some conditions requiring medication include; depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and ADHD. A psychiatrist evaluates patients with mental illness and, in cases where medication is subscribed, often practices medication management.
Required Qualifications
Facility will consider board eligible and board certified candidates.
Preferred Qualifications
Provider needs to be comfortable seeing all types of adult diagnoses. Active Texas license preferred.
