Psychiatrist - (Psych) Locum Tenens
StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day
Community mental health clinic in Phoenix, Arizona, is recruiting for a psychiatrist to start as soon as possible. This out-patient practice is equipped with electronic medical records, and administrative and clinical support staff. This opportunity is for a full time adult psychiatrist, comfortable with 20 minute medication checks and 1 hour evaluations. The mental health provider will not be responsible for Call, and client is open to 5 eight hour days or 4 ten hour days per week. For more information please contract Staff Care.
A psychiatrist (locum tenens) is a mental health professional, who focuses on preventing, diagnosing, and treating mental illness. After completing medical school, a psychiatrist must also complete a one year internship and three additional years of specialized training as a psychiatric resident. In the treatment of mental illness, a psychiatrist is licensed to prescribe medication. Some conditions requiring medication include; depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and ADHD. A psychiatrist evaluates patients with mental illness and, in cases where medication is subscribed, often practices medication management.
Required Qualifications
Any potential candidate must have an AHCCCS number and current Arizona medical license in psychiatry. Psychiatrist must also have experience with electronic medical records.
