Psychiatrist - (Psych) Locum Tenens
StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day
Part time inpatient psychiatrist needed for 15 bed all-adult voluntary unit ASAP-for ongoing locums coverage as hospital recruits. Expedited credentialing, board eligible candidates considered! Physician duties include admissions, discharges, med-management, evaluations and rounding. Census runs 13-15 beds on average. Mondays and Tuesdays; 9a to [Register to View] call. Great rates! A psychiatrist (locum tenens) is a mental health professional, who focuses on preventing, diagnosing, and treating mental illness. After completing medical school, a psychiatrist must also complete a one year internship and three additional years of specialized training as a psychiatric resident. In the treatment of mental illness, a psychiatrist is licensed to prescribe medication. Some conditions requiring medication include; depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and ADHD. A psychiatrist evaluates patients with mental illness and, in cases where medication is subscribed, often practices medication management.
