Psychiatrist - (Psych) Locum Tenens
StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day
Psychiatrist needed for State Hospital in the Atlanta area. Overnight Admissions Area. Board Eligible physicians accepted. Full time, Mondays-Fridays, Midnight to 8am. Weekend shifts 8pm to 8am. Immediate start for ongoing coverage. Physician duties include rounding, medication management and evaluations of all adult unit. Great rates and wonderful opportunity for the Atlanta area! A psychiatrist (locum tenens) is a mental health professional, who focuses on preventing, diagnosing, and treating mental illness. After completing medical school, a psychiatrist must also complete a one year internship and three additional years of specialized training as a psychiatric resident. In the treatment of mental illness, a psychiatrist is licensed to prescribe medication. Some conditions requiring medication include; depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and ADHD. A psychiatrist evaluates patients with mental illness and, in cases where medication is subscribed, often practices medication management.
