Psychiatrist - (Psych) Locum Tenens
StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day
Community mental health clinic, located in Wine County, is in need of a part time psychiatrist for one eight-hour day. The mental health physician will be working with a passionate team of mental health professional such as therapist, nurses, and case workers. This team oriented facility has a "case management housing" model where the psychiatrist will be working with an ongoing patient load for long term stabilization. The physician will have no more than twenty two patients at a time, but not be required to see each patient weekly. The team bases approach will allow the psychiatrist to take a role in weekly team meetings, and practice both medication management and therapy. This clinic is looking for a physician to start in July on an ongoing basis as they recruiting for a permanent physician. Please contact Staff Care for more information.
A psychiatrist (locum tenens) is a mental health professional, who focuses on preventing, diagnosing, and treating mental illness. After completing medical school, a psychiatrist must also complete a one year internship and three additional years of specialized training as a psychiatric resident. In the treatment of mental illness, a psychiatrist is licensed to prescribe medication. Some conditions requiring medication include; depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and ADHD. A psychiatrist evaluates patients with mental illness and, in cases where medication is subscribed, often practices medication management.
Required Qualifications
All candidates must be comfortable with electronic medical records, and working with a team atmosphere.
