Psychiatrist - (Psych) Locum Tenens
StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: Part Time
Psychiatrist needed to help serve the ACT Team for Brooklyn and Staten Island patient base. Part time hours (27 hours per week), flexible schedule to serve about 22 patients per week. Physician duties include travelling to patient's homes, diagnosis, evaluations and follow up visits. Ordering of lab tests such as Lithium, Depakote or Tegretol levels, metabolic profiles and blood counts as needed. Med-management and consultations as well. ASAP-ongoing coverage, great rates and vehicles provided. Call Staff Care today for more information!
A psychiatrist (locum tenens) is a mental health professional, who focuses on preventing, diagnosing, and treating mental illness. After completing medical school, a psychiatrist must also complete a one year internship and three additional years of specialized training as a psychiatric resident. In the treatment of mental illness, a psychiatrist is licensed to prescribe medication. Some conditions requiring medication include; depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and ADHD. A psychiatrist evaluates patients with mental illness and, in cases where medication is subscribed, often practices medication management.
