Psychiatrist - (Psych) Locum Tenens
StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: Part Time
A Psychiatrist is needed for inpatient coverage to start May 5th going forward. The schedule will be for a 40 hour week schedule. The provider will not be responsible for weeknight or weekend call schedule. Psychiatrist needs to have experience and comfortable seeing adult patients. Daily responsibilities will be to perform evaluations, consults, medication management and rounding in the am. Call Staff Care today if you would like to hear more about this opportunity.
A psychiatrist (locum tenens) is a mental health professional, who focuses on preventing, diagnosing, and treating mental illness. After completing medical school, a psychiatrist must also complete a one year internship and three additional years of specialized training as a psychiatric resident. In the treatment of mental illness, a psychiatrist is licensed to prescribe medication. Some conditions requiring medication include; depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and ADHD. A psychiatrist evaluates patients with mental illness and, in cases where medication is subscribed, often practices medication management.
Required Qualifications
Psychiatry must be comfortable seeing all types of patients.
Candidate must have active Connecticut state license.
Prefer clean background physicians to speed up the credentialing process.
Preferred Qualifications
Psychiatrist needs to have experience seeing adult patients in inpatient unit.
Prefer candidates with suboxone certification.
Accept board eligible within 5 years of residency program.
