Psychiatrist - (Psych) Locum Tenens
StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day

A Psychiatrist is needed to work on a locum tenens basis starting as soon as credentialing and privileging can be completed. The patient panel would be all outpatients. The physician's assignment will be ongoing in nature, until the client is successful in hiring a permanent candidate. Working hours are 8:00 - 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

A psychiatrist (locum tenens) is a mental health professional, who focuses on preventing, diagnosing, and treating mental illness. After completing medical school, a psychiatrist must also complete a one year internship and three additional years of specialized training as a psychiatric resident. In the treatment of mental illness, a psychiatrist is licensed to prescribe medication. Some conditions requiring medication include; depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and ADHD. A psychiatrist evaluates patients with mental illness and, in cases where medication is subscribed, often practices medication management.

Required Qualifications
An active basic life support certification will be required prior to the physician's start date.
