Psychiatrist - (Psych) Locum Tenens
StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: Rotating Shift
Inpatient Psychiatry weeknight and weekend call coverage needed in North Carolina for an immediate and ongoing opportunity. Coverage needed for 1:2 weeknight and weekend 24 hour call coverage with rounding. The physician will see patients; perform evaluations, consults and medication management. A psychiatrist (locum tenens) is a mental health professional, who focuses on preventing, diagnosing, and treating mental illness. After completing medical school, a psychiatrist must also complete a one year internship and three additional years of specialized training as a psychiatric resident. In the treatment of mental illness, a psychiatrist is licensed to prescribe medication. Some conditions requiring medication include; depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and ADHD. A psychiatrist evaluates patients with mental illness and, in cases where medication is subscribed, often practices medication management.
Required Qualifications
Active North Carolina state license
Open to 1:2 night and weekend call schedule
Preferred Qualifications
Experienced in inpatient treatment
Board certified candidates
