Psychiatrist - (Psych) Locum Tenens
StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day
Community mental health clinic in Phoenix, Arizona, is recruiting for a psychiatrist to start as soon as possible to work with their ACT team. The psychiatrist will be working with a full support staff, and have the ability to meet their patients in the community. The team will have a company vehicle, and will meet with existing patients. The mental health provider will not be responsible for Call, and client is open to 5 eight hour days per week. For more information please contact Staff Care.
A psychiatrist (locum tenens) is a mental health professional, who focuses on preventing, diagnosing, and treating mental illness. After completing medical school, a psychiatrist must also complete a one year internship and three additional years of specialized training as a psychiatric resident. In the treatment of mental illness, a psychiatrist is licensed to prescribe medication. Some conditions requiring medication include; depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and ADHD. A psychiatrist evaluates patients with mental illness and, in cases where medication is subscribed, often practices medication management.
Required Qualifications
Any potential candidate must have an AHCCCS number and current Arizona medical license in psychiatry. Psychiatrist must also have experience with electronic medical records.
