Psychiatrist - (Psych) Locum Tenens
StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day
An outpatient facility in Central Pennsylvania is searching for a Psychiatrist for 16 hour per week. This position will work with adults with MH issues at two sites that are roughly 30 minutes apart. The Psychiatrist is qualified in the mental health profession, and possesses the clinical skills and experience to assess, plan, develop, coordinate, and provide psychiatric treatment, and rehabilitation for adults with mental illness, and developmental disabilities. A psychiatrist (locum tenens) is a mental health professional, who focuses on preventing, diagnosing, and treating mental illness. After completing medical school, a psychiatrist must also complete a one year internship and three additional years of specialized training as a psychiatric resident. In the treatment of mental illness, a psychiatrist is licensed to prescribe medication. Some conditions requiring medication include; depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and ADHD. A psychiatrist evaluates patients with mental illness and, in cases where medication is subscribed, often practices medication management.
Required Qualifications
Professional credentials should be current as dictated by the State licensing standards, and Professional Licensing Board
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated knowledge, and understanding of dually diagnosed individuals, recovery principles, and recovery driven system
