Psychiatrist - (Psych) Locum Tenens
StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day
A Full Time Psychiatrist is needed in Virginia for an opportunity to begin in July. The schedule is Monday - Friday, 8:30a-5p, no weekends and no call. The physician will see adult patients, and perform evaluations, consults, and medication management. The site utilizes EMR. A psychiatrist (locum tenens) is a mental health professional, who focuses on preventing, diagnosing, and treating mental illness. After completing medical school, a psychiatrist must also complete a one year internship and three additional years of specialized training as a psychiatric resident. In the treatment of mental illness, a psychiatrist is licensed to prescribe medication. Some conditions requiring medication include; depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and ADHD. A psychiatrist evaluates patients with mental illness and, in cases where medication is subscribed, often practices medication management.
Required Qualifications
Must be Board Certified Psychiatrist
Preferred Qualifications
Comfortable working as a team with case managers and other clinicians
