Psychiatrist - (Psych) Locum Tenens
StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day
Looking for a psychiatry position in Northern California? This community mental health facility within driving distance of Northern Nevada is in need of temporary coverage while they recruiting on a permanent basis. Potential candidates will see patients of all ages, but mostly ages 18 and up. This out-patient community mental health setting has no Call responsibilities, and psychiatrist will be responsible for initial evaluations and medication checks. This opportunity is available starting end of April on an ongoing basis. Psychiatric provider will not be responsible for Call, and will work a full time schedule Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm. The facility has therapists and a psychiatric nurse for full support of the doctor. For more information, please call Staff Care.
A psychiatrist (locum tenens) is a mental health professional, who focuses on preventing, diagnosing, and treating mental illness. After completing medical school, a psychiatrist must also complete a one year internship and three additional years of specialized training as a psychiatric resident. In the treatment of mental illness, a psychiatrist is licensed to prescribe medication. Some conditions requiring medication include; depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and ADHD. A psychiatrist evaluates patients with mental illness and, in cases where medication is subscribed, often practices medication management.
Required Qualifications
Candidate must have an active California license, and DEA.
Preferred Qualifications
This facility would prefer a candidate to see all ages, as young as 6 years old.
