Job Description & Requirements Psychiatrist - (Psych) Locum Tenens StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day
A Psychiatrist is needed in Pennsylvania for 24 hours per week starting ASAP-ongoing. The schedule is Monday-Friday 8a-5p, no weekends and no call. A psychiatrist (locum tenens) is a mental health professional, who focuses on preventing, diagnosing, and treating mental illness. After completing medical school, a psychiatrist must also complete a one year internship and three additional years of specialized training as a psychiatric resident. In the treatment of mental illness, a psychiatrist is licensed to prescribe medication. Some conditions requiring medication include; depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and ADHD. A psychiatrist evaluates patients with mental illness and, in cases where medication is subscribed, often practices medication management.
Required Qualifications A Pennsylvania state license is required
