Physician Opportunity
Looking for an additional hospital-employed physician to work in both an inpatient and outpatient setting. The hospital has a 12-bed adult psych unit and the population provides a good opportunity for an outpatient practice. The practice offers individual, family and group counseling, behavioral modification techniques, vocational/occupational counseling, medication therapy, relaxation and assertiveness training, psychotherapy, somatic therapy and expressive therapy. Located in Galax, in the southwestern part of the state, this is a great place to practice and raise a family.

Recreation

The 765-acre New River Trail State Park, which has been designated an official National Recreation Trail by the U. S. Department of the Interior. The park parallels 39 miles of the New River, which is one of the world’s oldest rivers and among a handful of rivers flowing north. Among other things, New River is known for its fishing and boating.
