Psychiatrist - (Psych) Locum Tenens
Inpatient psychiatrists needed for 18 bed adult unit. December 10- January 4. Full time, plus 1:4 nightly call rotation. Board certified and board eligible candidates eligible. Inpatient experience required within the last 5 years. Working with one other psychiatrist seeing up to 12 patients per day plus ER consults as needed. Physician duties include admissions, discharges and med management. GREAT RATES and excellent summer location. Travel and lodging provided! A psychiatrist (locum tenens) is a mental health professional, who focuses on preventing, diagnosing, and treating mental illness. After completing medical school, a psychiatrist must also complete a one year internship and three additional years of specialized training as a psychiatric resident. In the treatment of mental illness, a psychiatrist is licensed to prescribe medication. Some conditions requiring medication include; depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and ADHD. A psychiatrist evaluates patients with mental illness and, in cases where medication is subscribed, often practices medication management.
