Psychiatrist - (Psych) Locum Tenens
Inpatient full time geriatric Psychiatrist is needed in southeast Ohio for an ongoing opportunity starting in August.. Hours are Monday - Friday 8 am-5 pm, with some weeknight call. The physician will see geriatric patients; perform evaluations, consults and medication management. Approximately 7-8 patients per day for inpatient unit. A psychiatrist (locum tenens) is a mental health professional, who focuses on preventing, diagnosing, and treating mental illness. After completing medical school, a psychiatrist must also complete a one year internship and three additional years of specialized training as a psychiatric resident. In the treatment of mental illness, a psychiatrist is licensed to prescribe medication. Some conditions requiring medication include; depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and ADHD. A psychiatrist evaluates patients with mental illness and, in cases where medication is subscribed, often practices medication management.
