Psychiatrist - (Psych) Locum Tenens
Correctional facility needing full time psychiatrist for contract coverage. Provider will be working full time from 8am to 5pm. Candidates will be responsible for medication management, evaluation of new patients, and ongoing counseling-testing. Please contact Staff Care for more information on this opportunity.
A psychiatrist (locum tenens) is a mental health professional, who focuses on preventing, diagnosing, and treating mental illness. After completing medical school, a psychiatrist must also complete a one year internship and three additional years of specialized training as a psychiatric resident. In the treatment of mental illness, a psychiatrist is licensed to prescribe medication. Some conditions requiring medication include; depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and ADHD. A psychiatrist evaluates patients with mental illness and, in cases where medication is subscribed, often practices medication management.
Required Qualifications
Provider must have a clean and active Florida state license.
Preferred Qualifications
Candidates must be comfortable working in a correctional setting.
