Psychiatrist - (Psych) Locum Tenens
A Psychiatrist is needed at an outpatient facility in northern Illinois for an immediate and ongoing opportunity. The schedule is Monday-Friday 8:30a-4:30p, no weekends and no call. The facility would prefer a full time provider but will consider a flexible schedule. The physician will see adult patients; perform evaluations, consults, and medication management. A psychiatrist (locum tenens) is a mental health professional, who focuses on preventing, diagnosing, and treating mental illness. After completing medical school, a psychiatrist must also complete a one year internship and three additional years of specialized training as a psychiatric resident. In the treatment of mental illness, a psychiatrist is licensed to prescribe medication. Some conditions requiring medication include; depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and ADHD. A psychiatrist evaluates patients with mental illness and, in cases where medication is subscribed, often practices medication management.
